Poverty: Haiti cntent

In Reference to:
The End of Poverty

On hearing of the Haiti earthquake, part of my  response was, in common with many 'what can I do?' .  I gave what money I could. Having had cause to research Haiti one point, I was somewhat more aware of the parlous history and state of the country, so I circulated some Country-Profiles to people; because information about the grinding life-conditions could begin to bring home exactly the point made in this IL post - that the disaster was of apocalyptic proportions because of the continuous poverty in this neglected State, the poorest in he Western Hemisphere, with an astounding history and position in political play.  I was glad to see this Integral publication explicitly looking at Poverty, a huge issue in all developmental guises.  And then, I couldn't access the Premium content on this topic.  I'm a hugely privileged person in many ways, but I don't use (or have) a credit card and can't afford the subscription.  I hope this is not an unworthy point, or taken as irrelevant, but I experienced a twinge of irony that  this discussion is a commodity I can't afford.  I understand that IL has to turn a penny.  I'm happy to play my energies otherwise.  It just seemed odd and I thought I'd say so.  Blessings for having the talks, anyway.
