I Want You!

 Dear Friends,

I have recently been pondering the state of Integral Institute’s academic partnerships at John F. Kennedy University and Fielding Graduate University and thought it would be a good opportunity to get your feedback as well.

As the Partnership Consultant for Integral Institute, I am passionate about integral education and believe the programs offered at JFKU and FGU are robust, unique, and specifically designed to support your personal and professional transformation.

However, I also realize my perspective may be a bit biased. After all, it’s my job to advocate for the programs and find ways to spread the word and increase enrollment. That is why I think it is important to get your feedback…to broaden my perspective and perhaps help us to redefine our message and how we deliver that message to prospective students.

Here’s what I would like for you to do…regardless of how much you know about our partnerships. Please take a few minutes to fill out a short survey. It will take you less than 5 minutes to fill out, but will provide us with some valuable feedback that we can use to help support our partners at JFKU and FGU. I basically want to find out what you may know about these programs, have you considered application, and any suggestions you may have to help us spread the word.

I want these programs to succeed because I want the integral model to succeed and to advance more extensively within our world. I know you have the same vision and I appreciate you taking the time to provide your perspective. And, as always, I welcome your direct feedback, so feel free to email me with your thoughts and suggestions.

Best regards,

Richard Trebus
Partnership Consultant

You Want My Thoughts?

In some earlier posts Michael Powell shared some information about some lessons from Fielding Graduate University. It was very nice of him to do so. Thank you Michael.

I might have misinterpreted these but to me they had the underlying feeling of not being much more than the polishing of ego using integral terms. I am sorry if I am wrong. If I am partially correct I would hope that improvements could be made. I feel very deeply that integral should stand for much more than just the inflating of intellectual and success desiring egos. Thanks for asking. These are the links.

Okay.... [?]

I filled it out. This is how I answered your question, just to make sure others know what is being said:

Q:  "Do you have any suggestions for us at Integral Institute and Integral Life to help us "spread the word" and market these programs?"

A:  "No. I have suggestions about other programs ...that you might want to consider offering. The names of these programs send no significant signals, that I can identify, that the rest of the world will recognize as important. Why should someone in the Ranching and Animal Husbandry Field hire me if I have a "Certificate in Integral Studies"? That will have no meaning to them. I would suggest offering programs that will have meaningful names for specific field groups -or- allow the student to assist you in naming their program to target their chosen field. Integral is something of a meta-studies program and as such will be applicable to many fields. But we're the only ones who know that. The program names should send clear messages to those who are in positions to HIRE graduates. Any education that does not prepare for paid employment is fat, and no one can afford to be packing that much fat around anymore. Least of all, people who are impoverishing themselves in pursuit of Integral achievement (sp?). "

I would have been better able to think thru that had the text box been larger. Sorry about the big blob of a paragraph and the mixed metaphor at the end. LOL
