OVERHEARD: First Official National Integral Political Party Formed in Switzerland
[If I'm diligent this will be the first of a new blog series I will run on things I overhear in the integral community. - RSS]
![]()
The Integral movement has its first official political party formed in Switzerland! Its convening convention is in May. Is that cool or what? And if anyone speaks French or German I'd love to know what this website actually says ...
UPDATE:
Here's a rough translation, provided by our beloved community member Linda Hollier:
Integrale Politik strives to lay the foundations for the renewal of our culture and society on the basis of a new consciousness. With this it wishes to contribute towards the solution of the radical social, ecological and psychological problems of humanity.
With this in mind, an association with the name of Integrale Politik was established in November 2007 with the goal of becoming a Swiss Party in the winter of 2009/10. Before this, a group of ten men and ten women, the so-called core group, had worked for about two years on a foundational paper with the purpose of it having a philosophical basis.
Integrale Politik is based on a view of mankind that equally acknowledges the body, emotions, the mind as well as the intuitive spiritual dimension. These form four planes each with their own needs, and for a life of satisfaction all four of these planes should be considered. A large portion of these needs are non-material in nature; in our current culture the material demands are nevertheless very much overrated.
Integral consciousness values the emotional and the spiritual needs, but in no ways neglects that which is material or rational. It overcomes adhering to material needs only, and puts them in their appropriate place.
We are convinced: The deep renewal of society’s structures come about , so to say spontaneously from the inside out, through a new consciousness. There are millions of people who on the basis of their consciousnesses are establishing and erecting these new outer structures. These structures on the other hand will additionally promote a change in consciousness.
Perhaps you also belong to the multitude of people, who for a long time have waited to see a new view of the world and humanity flowing into Swiss politics. In that case, please become a member. The party Integrale Politik bids you a hearty welcome.

Here’s my attempt at the home page:

More Info
Posted April 29th, 2009 by Linda HollierFor those of you who are interested, I thought I would add the following extracts that I came across:
In the preamble to the short version of their founding document it is stated that, “Integrale Politik distinguishes itself from traditional Left-Right Positions, in that it is not concerned about being correct in the sense of insisting upon a specific position, truth or perspective as being the only correct one, but instead is concerned about a comprehensive view of matters. The question is not, “Who is correct?” but “What are all the aspects that need to be considered to strive for a truth-encompassing i.e an integral solution starting point for the often complex problems of our society?”
After referring to the fact that the term integral as a historical epoch of consciousness was introduced by Jean Gebser, the following is stated in the longer version of their founding documents: “ Integral refers therefore to a new epoch of culture that is founded in a new consciousness. This consciousness is only coming into being. Therefore we are in a new phases of testing, and seeking. Important impetus is being given to this by amongst others, Ken Wilber. What Integral politics means exactly cannot be found in any dictionary; it must first be experienced, thought out and realized.”

Contact of member of Integral Politics
Posted June 18th, 2009 by lily truongI knew about this organization last year when I was in Germany. There work posted on line impressed me. I have yet attended any of their meetings or conferences.
However, I happen to know one active members of this group. Her name is Elke Fein. When I forwarded the news that the Integral community in the U.S started noticing this Integral Politics group, she wanted to inform Robb Simth and Linda Hollier that Integral Politics in not a party yet but only an association and that their English language article on IP is under way and should be finished by the end of June.
Below is my short introduction of Dr. Elke Fein, her contribution to the Swiss Integral Politics group and her significant involovement in the Integral emergence in Germany for your further reference.
Dr. Elke Fein is a social scientist, currently teaching and doing research on Eastern European History and Political Science at Albert-Lugwigs-University of Freiburg. She led a workshop in Basel on the sociological Congress (http://www.sgs-kongress.ch/joomla/) that introduced the integral framework to war in in 2007. While the first First Biennial Integral Conference held at JFKU in August 2008, she was organizing an Integral Politics Conference in Germany (http://www.integrale-politik.org/)
She is also one of the founder of the Institute of Integral Studies (www.ifis-freiburg.de) at the University of Freiburg (one of the most pretigious universities in Germany).
I did obtain her permission for passing her contact information to memebers of the Integral community. Should you have any questions or inquiries, please contact her. I believe she will be very resourceful to you.

integral and integral
Posted December 25th, 2009 by Michael HabeckerNormal 0 21
Hi Robb,
I met Gil Ducommun, Co-Präsident of Integrale Politik Schweiz, last summer, and I studied their paper Grundlagen Integraler Politik (short version).
There are many good intentions in this initiative, but it is also clear that this integrale politik has only very little to do with what Ken Wilber offered with the three excerpts from the many faces of terrorism.

French or German interpreter needed.
Posted April 28th, 2009 by barbi hammondHmm, German... I don't think you'd want me for the job, then. My French is terrible. I would be curious to read a translation of this, though.
