You are the Future of Love

On behalf of Integral Life, Ken and I kindly invite you to join us and dozens of other integral teachers for Integral Spiritual Experience 2: The Future of Love this New Year in California.  

Your participation is important. Truly important.

I invite you to open yourself to how obvious it all is.

You are the future of love. 

I really could end this entire letter there.  Do you see?

We’re really being selfish.  We do not come to teach you, rather it is with you that the teaching arises.  We do not ask to transform you, yet it is with you that our transformation becomes possible.  We do not offer to make your life meaningful, because it is in service that you allow us to find meaning in our lives.  You see, the future of love is a way of being.  It is a community of practice.  It is a calling.

It is simply only through you that we awaken to the future of love living as the always-already promise within.  

Our integral vision is fallible, but it is also authentic: there is no we without you.  Our gathering is not about anything.  It is simply a genuine calling for each of us to awaken the future of love within ourselves.  And to do so together, harnessing the power and energy of a group that breathes common values and can catalyze a vision that will not fail in the face of our darker spirits.

You are that vision. You are that calling. You are the future of love.

At last year’s event we christened a vow of unique service for every contributor, organizer and participant at ISE 1.  We called on each person present to live more essentially through the prism of their own unique perspectives; each unique self perspective only becoming more full and focused with the passage of time, each passing day like an evolutionary acid that sears away every remnant of a self held false, an arrow untrue, a calling held captive.  And five hundred and more people looked deep within and far ahead and came away knowing that they have an essential mission to offer their capacities, their stories, to a world needing all of them.

Now it is time to share these stories with others.

In year 2 we continue the journey, peeling away tired dogma and distractions to dive into the heart of how two unique selves, each in service to each other in relationship, come to more fully embody love as the motivating power of all transformation.  All of us can tap into our own “love calling,” a particular teleology, a purposeful direction that is called upon us from our future self.  It is uniquely ours and asks us to love more fully and manifest our love more clearly.  Only as we fully embrace our own contribution does our love and reverence for others’ become obvious, natural, even inevitable.  

Listen now.  Quietly. Can you feel it? Your unique calling to love.

Ask yourself, what is that I feel called to become, that raging wellspring of abundance and light and freedom that this body so barely contains?  Your unique love calling is an involutionary pull into a self radiant with the precise and chiseled contours of a passionate life on a mission: I will not go quietly, I will not give in, I will not lay down my love.  The hand of evolution, the hand of God, the hand of love.  Whatever.  These phrases are but pale and feeble caricatures of the real thing.  Your real thing.  Your unique calling to love.

Be a lover, whomever you are.

If my language makes you uncomfortable, join me.  If my phrasing is too mystical, join me.  If love is too soft for you, join me.  Push your boundary and be the lover you want to be.  Especially, now, let me speak to each of you in the Integral Life community.

If you are a CEO or a business leader, love is the killer app for your business.  Make no mistake, you are, at the core, in the business of evolution.  Love is the secret weapon of evolution, and love is the ultimate “sur-thrival” tool of all leading-edge organizations.  Join me.

If you are a spiritual practitioner, love is the animating core that the great traditions create myths around to conceal in plain sight, the birthright of a thousand generations finding another beautiful expression now in a post-mythic way.  Join me.  

If you are an integral visionary, love is the who, the where, the why and the how of all situations, every context, every level and every perspective.  Join me.

If you are a thought leader, love is the answer to every question.  It is the ineffable and the knowable, the universal and the particular.  Don’t seek what you already have, do us the service of sharing it.  Join me.

Let us sink quietly into the stillness of this moment. 

Now. 

Now. 

Quietly. 

Softly. 

Let it emerge as a subtle whisper caressing our heart, holding us tightly, gently, caressing, caressing... 

We find love deep in the stillness of this moment. Our quietude beckons us to open our heart wider to the miracle of what we hold in our awareness.  All this body, all this room, all this earth, all this manifestation.  And we descend fully and peacefully into the embrace of the still and gently-beating heart of time itself, God’s handmaiden. We sink and in a graceful revelation we are never to be the same again, opened beyond all recognition to the love that animates every moment, every breath, every whisper, unfolding forever in a heart that is already broken and always unbroken, weeping and rejoicing as if it could ever be anything but just this, One Heart, hearing the sound of its infinite love reverberate and cascade into a torrent of ten thousand things and more...

And against the True love that arises ceaselessly from stillness we find love grow through the far-reaching heights of our own Unique perspective. True Self and Unique Self, lover and beloved, dancing timelessly while prancing forward in time.    

You see now.  Integral love is a true be-holding.  To be: open to the ecstasy of a love that is eternal and constitutional to our being.  To hold: a vast and massive embrace of others that acknowledges in every face the grace of a divine mystery we can never fully know.  Open to all the levels and forms and mysteries of evolutions’ great unfolding, be-holding each in an integrating and whole embrace of what is and what can be.  And integral love, blending both ecstasy and perspective as a fluid dance that heralds humanity’s promise, the future of love a thousand generations’ past dreams here and now, awaiting your participation.

We are yet one.

Let love reign.

Beautifully Expressed!

Robb, this expression of love can only come forth from that Source of Loving Presence contained within us all...I feel it deeply, intensely in your own "poetic expression" arising through your heart felt words.

I'm so called to this Future of Love and hold the deepest intention that I can join everyone in this year's gathering.
