Got RSS? Well, sort of...
Hey there IL community,
One of the features that's been high on our community development list for a long time is RSS (stands for Real Simple Syndication, read more here). We realize that it's somewhat embarrassing to consider what we have a blog platform without this basic feature. This has been delayed for many reasons, but primarily because we want to revamp our notification system, fix the incessant 'Watcher' problems, etc in one fell swoop; but this will require some deeper back-end improvements that may take a while to address.
In lieu of waiting for that, I created a couple pages with RSS feeds for our tech savvy community members who want to stay plugged-in on a deeper level.
To monitor all of the recent community blog posts as they arise, go to:
IntegralLife.com/recent-blog-posts
and subscribe to the feed by clicking the RSS icon in your browser's URL address bar. For this feed I also created a Twitter account that announces each new post--follow it here: Twitter.com/ILBlogs
For all the most recent comments anywhere in the community (blog post threads or inquiry responses), go to:
IntegralLife.com/all-comments
This feed is buggy with some feed readers, and the 'In response to' links are sometimes funky... but hey, something's better than nothin'.
If you have any other feeds you'd like to be made available like this, reply and I'll see what we can do.
Cheers!

Full text in the RSS feed?
Posted May 7th, 2009 by Grey DraneThis is a nice start, but I personally much prefer RSS feeds that have the full text of the articles in them, or that at least have a significant chunk of the article in them, say a couple of good full paragraphs (10-15 lines). Two or three lines just isn't enough for me to justify subscribing to the feed, especially when I'm already following the ILPblog Twitter account. And just as a general rule, I don't follow RSS feeds anymore if they don't give me enough text to read directly in my feed reader.
Cheers,
G:D

I recently got an iPod...
Posted May 7th, 2009 by BryanI recently got an iPod and have discovered the wonderful world of podcasts. For example, I really enjoy one called "zencast". I even found some integral naked podcasts but there doesn't seem to have been any new ones in a while. I'm not sure what an RSS feed is exactly. I'm wondering if it is something I can listen to on my iPod. If not, I'm hopeful that maybe integral life could put some of the audio discussions in podcast format. It is wonderful to be able to carry lectures with me instead of being tethered to the computer. Thanks for taking the time to read my comments. Namaste.
