I received a very poor grade in a college course partly because I refused to back down on the concept that non human animals possess (are?) consciousness. Oh well.

Moral progress

imho, Gandhi's reference to a nation's "moral progress" is synonymous with a nation's "stage (level) of awareness" which, according to KW, is the degree to which a nation's "view of reality becomes broader, deeper and more inclusive".

I refuse to believe that just because my dog isn't full of bull shit, like me, that she lacks an interior.
