Osho: An Integral Thinker?
I am new to the Integral Institute. I am wondering if anyone has addressed Osho's work. It seems to me that he was an integral thinker especially in the area of spirituality. Is there anything on the site that addresses Osho's work? Thanks, Rob King

Absolutely!
Posted February 8th, 2010 by Irina FilippovaHi, Rob,
Thanks for your question. I am new to the Integral world as well and my intuition tells me that Osho is absolutely in line with the Integral approach. He is a deep "knower" of traditions but also someone who is not rigid and able to transcend them, rise to whatever subject comes up at any given moment, and react with all his wisdom.
There was a previous comment about Mustard Seed as one of the most influential spiritual books - I wholeheartedly agree and enjoy a lot of Osho's recorded talks that have at times played a transformative role in my life (am now in the midst of "Above all, don't wobble").
I am curious - whether Osho is or isn't "Integral", does it matter? Would it change your perception of his contributions? If you recognise him as "Integral", isn't it sufficient?
With warm California wishes,
Irina.

Osho
Posted February 8th, 2010 by StanleyI understand that he read something like 10,000 of the world's greatest books so he seemed to have the cognitive and spiritual modules pretty well covered.

Cool, another Osho sannyas (or fan)...
Posted February 8th, 2010 by GameOfThrivingI think it depends on how you define integral. In many ways, Osho was integral. He made people "right" at all stages of development, while offering them (at best) stage appropriate practices to evolve. In others, he didn't have the opportunity to learn the distinctions of Integral, and so he was ignorant of them.
Plus, he was IMO a wonderful, exuberant freak in integral terms! Definitely one of my favorite teachers through books! The Mustard Seed is still one of my top 5 favorite books in my life.
