Immediacy of true perception

Sure, the human heart lets us know how pain feels!

Yet the heart of our soul knows neither sorrow nor pain.

Where do you want to dwell?

Have mercy with your soul! Rolf Krahnert

True perception is leading you to your awakening and ultimately beyond any form of perception. It is the direct path of freeing yourself from the prison of the cycle of birth and death. Your sense of self is being born into thought form and dying to it at any given moment.

True awakening is only concerned with genuine truth, with the formless essence beyond form. Any dogma, religion or philosophical teaching is but speculation and intellectual acrobatics. It seems cumbersome to contemplate the values of these thought constructs. All they can do is perhaps point the way to a formless reality beyond form. Thought is form. It is energy and information expressing simply the negation of truth yet it can also  point towards truth. The human mind is predominantly preoccupied with thought forms, concerning a mind made past and that is the reason why you only see the past. Yet it is utterly useful to find your way home while you are apparently occupying a body. You always see your thought forms projected outwards, which your mind has already decided upon. Your mind cannot grasp the present. The present is the point in time that can lead you out of time. The present is the doorway to the timeless. The intellectual mind cannot understand time and therefore not understand anything. The mind has made time. It is essential for your awakening to let yourself fall into the unknown, into the timeless essence of all there is.

When I gazed at myself I saw myself no more.  Rumi

Truth is always simple. It is interesting to observe how the seeming separate human mind is turning everything into a brain bending complexity. Fear is hiding behind this complexity and is responsible for the flight into the intellect. The separate mind has made the universe as a hiding place. A hiding place where it believes it can hide from the imagined consequences of its decision to separate from its source. It is hiding behind its intellectual games, for it fears the blazing light of truth. Behind one answer another question is already waiting, a chain of endless problems. It seems like an endless circle. You believe that everything worthwhile in this life has to be of effort and so-called success can only be achieved with lots of frantic activities. But in truth there is nothing to do, nothing to achieve, nowhere to go. True, this is hard to grasp.

Truth is already right in front of your face, learn to see truly and you will know that truth was always here. It is always here, now, it cannot ‘not’ be here now, but your mind has lifted you out of the present. In this present moment the true nature of your being is revealing itself, right in front of you. The intellect is incapable of recognizing this reality, as soon as you are trying to describe it or hold onto it, it slips right out of your fingers.

If you are unable to connect with your true being right here, right now, you will never find it sometimes, somewhere else. There is nowhere to go, nothing to achieve, nothing to find. I know, it sounds incredibly untrue to your sense of self. It doesn’t fit with all the conditioning, the stories you have been told since the beginning of time.

As long as I am this or that, I am not all things.  Meister Eckhart

You hear of awakening, a reality beyond the profane sobriety of the world and you begin to search. The true awakening is right in front of you, as soon as you start thinking about it or searching for it, you fall prey to delusion. When you are trying to concoct truth with your intellect, you are removing yourself from it. The true nature of your being can never be subject to logical reflection. It must rather be witnessed in the very depth of your being. This leads to a different kind of understanding that cannot be described. You have to find out for yourself. As long as you analyze and poke a little here and there in the hope to find the right answers, you are walking in circles. But understand, the intellect cannot do anything else; it is built to differentiate and evaluate. As long as you want to comprehend true freedom through evaluation, you are building boundaries around your very essence. But understand just as well, that these boundaries are as thin as mist in the morning sky.

Constantly are you moving within your self made boundaries of your dualistic differentiations. Every thought is followed by the next and you are moving ever further away from your center. All thought form is but erroneous opinion. Be willing to open yourself to your inner treasure and you find out that the truth you where searching for is closer to you than you are to yourself.

There is nothing to search for, nothing to do and nowhere to go. There is no space in which any things or thoughts could be apart from each other. There is no time in which anything has not happened yet or is not anymore. Everything is all at once, revealing itself in this moment. From a holographic understanding everything is permeating itself constantly, there is a fundamental oneness of all things, a sameness and unbroken wholeness. The entire physical universe is a holistic organism in which every seeming separate part is in constant communication and connection with each other. It is truly in communication with itself, all the time.

I am not in the world; the world is in me.  D.E. Harding

If everything is an all embracing whole, containing anything and everything with nothing ever outside of it, then where do you want to search and search for what? Everything is here, now! This moment is complete as it is, just the way it is. If you want to come to know yourself, you have to join with here and now. No resistance to what is, no matter how different your ideas might be. Otherwise how do you want to join with what is when you are occupied with tomorrow or yesterday? Be willing to be still in the spaciousness of your consciousness with an ever-present, calm alertness.

The perishability of all form can suddenly and unexpectedly destroy all you speculations.

Everything you plan for the future is speculation, sure you know what I mean, a planning ahead and reaching a goal. This is what humans do right? But in the face of death, whether it is the death of the body or the death of thought forms, everything is losing its meaning and is forgotten. Anything stands without any value in the face of death. I will talk about death a little later on.

To live authentically is to live in the full awareness of the nothingness of one's self.  Heidegger

Letting go, whatever it might be – you have possibly heard such remarks before. But what does letting go actually mean? Does one really have the power to hold onto anything, in the face of constant change? If your true reality is a formless affair, then who is holding on , and onto what? It seems that we are looking at an ever-changing interplay of energies and thought constructs, nothing more and nothing less. The formless is nothing, meaning no-thing, a realty of no-thingness in relation to time and space and to states of consciousness. The formless is revealing itself right now, right here. There is no coming or going, there is no right or wrong, no above or below, left or right, the formless is everywhere, an all-embracing, timeless realty even beyond consciousness. To realize this and to melt with this kind of realization is the point of awakening.

Your mind is then totally free even if it moves in the spheres of living and dying. But you are not blinded anymore by empty fantasies and vain materialistic passions. Nothing can deceive you anymore for you are detached from the world of thought and senses. You are living freely in midst of the world and moving freely through the experiences of living and dying. You are being born anew at any moment into the sacred moment of your essence and you are dying to yourself at any moment to a sense of a separated self. You have surrendered to the gracious movement of All. You are totally free and in unison with Spirit.

You probably know the statue of the laughing Buddha, the sage with the big belly, the bag over his shoulders and a broad and happy smile all over his face. He is the perfect metaphor of someone who has ‘overcome’ the world and moves totally free without any limitations or burdens. He lives with the highest realization and without the least desire to live in a monastery or to teach or change anyone or anything. You too can live like that, without any attachments, sorrow or the need to change anything or anyone, in total independence yet with the awareness of a perfect oneness and perfection of creation as it is at any moment. All that is required is a shift in your perception. It is your destiny, how long do you want to wait? The freedom and joyfulness of the mind is your natural state. It is really simple and requires no effort at all. But you have to find out for yourself.

When you are dealing with anything immediately as it arises without interpretation, opinion or judgment, then you find yourself in flow with life. Live life with joyfulness despite the circumstances, have no goal, just be, but live totally! I can already hear your mind’s objections: no goal, just being, what’s the point of living? Just being, putting on some clothes in the morning, eating when you’re hungry, sleeping when you’re tired, is that all? I know, for the intellectual mind it seems incomprehensible, but the one with an understanding will know.

True words are not nice and nice words are not true!

Reality is simple and has nothing to do with friendly gestures to uphold an egoic structure. Truth has only one goal and that is to shake your attachment to words, ideas, concepts values and expectations. Anything worldly or otherworldly has to be put up for questioning; this will lead you towards your awakening. On a path towards your own awakening you will inevitably block your knowing mind (right-mindedness, Buddha-Mind, Christ Mind) with conceptual thought. This means you tend to search this inner knowing outside of you, where of course it cannot be found. This will leave you bound to form, holy exercises and rituals and anything that will prevent you from recognizing the truth of who and what you are.

What is it that prevents you from recognizing your true nature, although it is ever present? What is it that makes you cling to any artificially invented spiritual practices and teachings? They are nothing more than games of the mind. Why getting tangled up in endless intellectual discussions?

If you would honestly ask yourself one question and honestly free yourself of all ideas, answers or memories at the same time, you would sink deeply into a formless state. There and only there you will find you true answer. You can only experience that kind of answer, feel it but never try to understand it intellectually or try to fit it into a suitable description. Ask yourself ´who am I´? And then be still. No one and nothing can teach you that, in fact there is nothing to teach. Teachings, words and ideas are limited. They cannot teach the unteachable. Yet they can point you in a right direction. That they can do.

Free yourself from everything, especially from the idea of who and what you are. Suddenly you will experience the all embracing truth. But it also pulls the ground right from under your feet and suspend your mind. This state will invoke an immediate experience which cannot be comprehended. It like the water running through your fingers. You are totally clear for an instant, it is called a holy instant, and that it is.

Awakening is not something that overcomes you from somewhere outside of you, like a sudden flash of light that hits you and everything becomes clear. It is rather a dissolution of all your thoughts and ideas you have been projecting all of your life onto everything and anything. Then you will come to know, to a kind of inner recognition that there is no birth, no death, no time or space, no physical universe at all. It all will disappear and reveal itself at the illusion it always was. A curiously beautiful illusion though, no matter what you think. You will come to know it is a dream you are waking up from, a dessert you are leaving. The only meaningful thing to do with a dessert is to leave. A dream is a dream, a dessert is a dessert.

I know these are a lot of words and there is really nothing to say. Anything I am writing has nothing to do with reality at all. Anything that has been said or written about truth, about awakening, philosophy or God is nothing more than total nonsense. It is like offering a child an empty fist and it believes there is something in it. So don´t waste you time with useless studies or rituals, be alert. Grow up to become authentic, don´t be a slave to your thoughts and emotions anymore. Your life on earth is but a dream.

What is spirituality?

Spirituality is word that has been used to describe something the human conditioning in its current form is almost unable to describe. Spirituality in its truest sense cannot be described with a fixed terminology. To find your very own path that is close enough to get a glimpse of the true meaning of spirituality, you must be as uncomfortable and challenging as possible to the world. One must question anything and everything the world believes to be right. Even morals and human made laws are to be explored and to be seen in an ever-changing light. I don't mean to harm or hurt anyone, for to harm or hurt anyone you hurt yourself. There is no separation. The meaning of spirituality could therefore be, to be totally harmless but helpful, to be uncomfortable, nonconforming and to question any so-called realities.

The solution of a problem is the simple recognition that the problem is the problem. As long as you hold on to the problem, or are attached to the problem, it will continue to exist. The whole world is build on problems and problem solving. Realise there are no problems, only experiences.

When you enter your very centre, your still and formless place, you will connect with a state that is, the suchness or isness of the moment. I hear you asking already, a state that is ´what´? You want to hear a description, a mental image, an idea of what is. But what is, simply is. The ground of being itself. It is far beyond description because it is far beyond the busyness of the mind.
