how are judeaism and islam related?

my dad tells me i knew the 'mayor' of bethlehem's son as a toddler through my mom's boss and he used to study with my mom in her spare time...

does islam have a version of the Qabbala and is the punishing god a Sephiroth?

in 'The Sword and the Serpent' the book i'm reading on magickal philosophy it describes Atziluth as home to the Archetypes...and says that the Qliphoth do not have an 'archetype' persay.
