Another Possibility

Ken’s assumption is that the native people are a pre technological culture. This is probably correct but perhaps there is a slight chance that they are a post integral culture that had learned the hard way that they just could not include any parts of technology without losing the nobility and beauty of their lives. Maybe like an alcoholic who cannot take just one little drink without falling these people learned that they could not even hold on to the wheel, books, or antibiotics without falling.

 

Maybe their beautiful planet was not a pristine garden that had never been harmed but a garden that had to be painstakingly replanted by their ancestors after it had been ruined and covered over with concrete and toxic waste. If this were the case their lesson to us would be that even at integral we might need to be careful what we decide to include.
