Healthy Humility or Arrogance?

 In this talk Ken admits that developmentally he has sub personalities that drop all the way down into the basement. He says that this is true for about everyone. Ken is brave and humble enough to own up to this. This is one of the things I admire about him.

 

He says that arrogance can be a huge problem for many. As we are given or even imagine more and more power there is a greater and greater probability for selfish red to come to the forefront.

Yikes! I've read and reread several times your sentence quoted above. It at least implies, if not states directly, that as we grow deeper and fuller into our evolving capacities (which can be thought of as power) that the odds of the thud-like misuse of that power inevitably increase and that the rate of increase is also on the rise. Is this your actual position?

Part of me understands very clearly, that for me to try to engage you directly is a fool’s errand; and that this attempt to do so will likely end in stagnation. How happy i'd be to be proven wrong on this point.

wording

I'd quote him saying:

"whenever we get in a position of power these things come up"

 

So if we're handling power (the ability to get something done) then red sub personalities come up.  Whether they take over or not, and with what probability they take over, is I guess down to the shadow-work capacity or skill of the person.
