What Matters Most?

(Q3) It seems self evident that what matters most about our self is that which is eternal. Ken Wilber explains that our eternal drop is affected by our ability to understand (be) emptiness and good over evil. Our ability to be emptiness is called wisdom and our ability to express good integral ethics is called compassion. Perfect wisdom is expressed as perfect compassion. This is the way of the Bodisattva. I wish we had a few more of those in our world and in this community. All of our knowledge, clever thoughts, and opinions will die with our bodies.

It saddens this author that while in new age spirituality and "integral" circles at least emptiness is talked about that there is so little interest in and even sometimes hatred against the expression of compassion and good integral ethics.

It appears that these students of Core Integral  ask consistently suberb questions. It would be so wonderful if they were amoung us here in our community, be as it is.

How deep is the well?

How deep is our love? Emptiness can give you a overview that might inspire compassion but I propose that's why the Integral scene is lacking in hands-on experience. Caring is not a luxury for the evolutionary luminaries. Love is the most direct, most intelligent and the most common source of good deeds. Emptiness, a very Buddhist expression, serves well in the Integral community as a basic standard for further exploration. Love on the other hand is too difficult to speculate about, too incapable of misinterpretation. Love is what it says on the tin. How is love the standard that always ends up being the final word? How is love intelligent, wiser than the smartest brains? How does it know all things all the time? How is it we can always act with love regardless of how little we know? We can always set our own feelings aside and do the right thing because love is the right response, always. Why is emptiness the an empty chamber without love? Love knows all things, love is relational, and love always wins the day.
