Superordinate Own Goals

A superordinate goal is a goal or value that everybody wants and needs to realize, but no individual or group can achieve it in an unilateral fashion. These overarching umbrellas can take a number of forms. Some spring from a "woe is us" syndrome in that we are all in this horrible situation together. In other cases, a "common enemy" will appear on the scene, one that threatens the well-being of each and all. The best superordinate goal umbrella is a genuine and constructive outcome that everybody values, but one that requires the longer term integration of the conflicting groups.

What if a superordinate goal is introduced to the world, for the purpose of helping to integrate several 1st tier vmemes, but then one of those 1st tier vmemes, realising the political potential of the superordinate goal, tries to seize it, to their own 1st tier vmeme's advantage, to gain control over the other vmemes?

Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?

Yes, obviously that would be Red/Amber since taking over the world tends to be one of their major goals. This sounds like a "Pinky and the Brain" scenario.

In the past, I 'spect, these superordinate goals have had to be worded in such a way as to prevent that, because power/control has been democratized and therefore leaving it vulnerable. I wonder how this can be different with 2nd Tier/Integral thinking.
