We are just so close.. it hurts
We are just so close that it hurts and hurts real bad. I am all in for change and I see it everywhere sprouting up like spring flower in a field. Today I was reading about Charlie Munger. Most here probably don't know this gentlemen but he is the partner to Warren Buffett at Berkshire Hathaway and probably one of the ten wealthiest people on the planet. Munger was describing Li Lu as a potential replacement for Buffett when he retires. Li Lu was a leader of the Tiananmen square revolution who fled to the US to become a successful businessman. On the face of it, he appears to have 'second-tier' tendencies as well. Every time I read something from Mr. Munger I can't help thinking that he is integral without knowing that he's integral.
One can imagine a scenario where Munger, like many of us, stumbles across a copy of "Brief History of Everything" and shares it with -> Buffett -> Gates -> Gates Foundation, and away we go. There is so much wealth, power and philanthropic spirit with these guys that I think it's possible. Sure, I'm hoping, dreaming and shadow hugging here and most folks probably can't relate because of lack of knowledge of these gentlemen, but this is the only place where I could write something like this and have a chance of someone nodding their head. Whew, that feels better a little better..thank you.

Nodding Along
Posted August 14th, 2010 by jrigzintuteI'm nodding along with you, brother. I don't know Li Lu, but I'm so impressed with Buffet and Gates' commitment to giving away their wealth (and getting all their billionaire buddies to give away at least 50% too. Your scenario of a serendipitous acquaintance with a Wilber tome is sweet to contemplate, indeed.
With all the negativity in the world today, there is an equal (maybe greater) chance for massive positive change. I'd love to live long enough to see a significant and influential shift to 2nd tier. May it be so!
