"We can always afford to do what we have to do, because we can't afford not to." R. Buckminster Fuller
About Me
I trace my interest in integral studies back to age nineteen when I read The Phenomenon of Man, by Teilhard de Chardin, just six years after the English translation appeared in 1959. I was astonished to understand that there is a developmental and evolutionary sequence to things! Now I can look back over the decades and see the arc of my own stage-like and lines-specific growth, from the hippie period (mostly Red in my case) to years in a Hindu ashram with a guru (traditional Amber) to making my mark on the world as a builder (roughly Orange) to a fascination with new age beliefs and values (really Green) to my discovery of the work of Ken Wilber with Grace and Grit in 1998. Since then it’s been a virtual rocket ride into Second Tier!
Integrally speaking, it’s been a bit lonely in recent years here where I live in Small Town Arizona, but Sedona is no ordinary small town. In late 2007 a community calling itself Integral Sedona has emerged and blossomed here like a rose in the desert! I have deeply immersed myself in the life of the iSedona group, making my participation in the group part of my own Integral Life Practice.
