"Learning is what happens when you don't know what to do" --Guy Claxton
Helloooo!
So glad to be here.
My interest is in how the postmodern tensions affect Health, and whether there Is a way through that that doesn't require fundamental compromise. I have been very ill with fibromyalgia symptoms for my entire adult life, and have always felt myself to be something of a "canary in the coalmine" of our current predicament. :) I am new to this model but very impressed with it. The experience as I was reading Ken's books was extraordinarily moving for me-- the felt and thought discovery of a simple map that Has the potential to organize the confusion and thereby open a viable way in.... Extraordinary. I had a very visceral experience as I was reading of myself fragemented or "splattered" up and down the ladder of development (not to be too gruesome, but kind of like a road accident). Anyway it really got my attention, and I could begin to feel what a powerful tool the AQAL model is for clarifying what is awry at any individual rung on the ladder. What a royal mess! And what joy, to see that each event in my own life is understandable and include-able in this simple context. Great relief and greater terror!
When I do find energy and health I work as a Feldenkrais Teacher, offering sessions over Skype or telephone as well as in person. I am currently working on a book on an approach to mantra that I have developed, and I am involved in the Creation Lightship approach, which includes an interactive healing website: www.creationlightship.com. I have yet to come to terms with how this approach fits with the integral model, and would love to find someone, somewhere to explore that with!
Mostly, though, I am just at the level of survival, working to establish a basic functional integration that is consistent enough to build on and that can serve as base for every area. Some days I'm not able to do much of anything, and have to rely on family for food and some connection to Love. In general, Fixation is a huge problem for me, and can be very unnerving! The IOS seems like a promising tool to keep keeping myself honest and constructive.
Again I'm very grateful to have discovered this site and this approach, and thanks so much for your time and interest!
Best,
Thomas
