Reflections Rippling in Stillness

What Jun Po Roshi describes sounds very similar to the work I do. Listening to his discription, I find my heart full of appreciation for the magnificence that reveals itself when we listen.  Over several decades of psychological training, spiritual inquiry, and direct observation of the body, breath, and energy (kundalini/chakras), a similar method has revealed itself in my practice with individuals and groups.

Through directed conscious breathing most individuals can easily and quickly access a state empty of thought and centered in the heart.  From there we look for blockages in the body, as felt, observed and accessed through conscious breathing. Blockages are cleared in various ways such as through breathing, through sound, through mental/visual images, through making room for repressed feelings, through movement, or through dialogue.  The combination used depends on whatever is currently arising and remaining. As a practitioner, I must be in a state of emptiness that allows me to resonate deeply with whatever arises in every moment in "the other".  I constantly release an agenda and encourage the individual/group to do the same. We continue to drop together into the unconditioned here and now.  When enough physical/mental/emotional/energetic blocks are removed we feel and sense this life force vibrating in and as every cell of our being, every particle of "existence".  That simple feeling of being moves us and opens us and has its way with us. We surrender to it and discover it as our own divine nature that is always already present.  But now we are awake to our awakeness and we begin to sustain it through inspiration (conscious breathing) and the practice of releasing energetic and mental blocks to spacious awareness.

As the awarenes is opened and blockages are released, the mind is offered new, more comprehensive, integrated, simple ways to approach life. The student/client comes away with a new mind, and with the center of awareness dropped into the heart, yet located throughout the whole bodymind/kosmos and moved by what moves all, consciously.  For more information, visit my blogsite: http://venitaramirez.wordpress.com/

Worthwhile

It sounds like you are involved in some very worthwhile activities and have had some amazing experiences. If you have a few minutes I would love to hear what your experiences with Gurumayi Chidvilasananda's intensives were/are like.
