Integral Spirituality: Call for Papers
The Journal of Integral Theory and Practice (JITP) will publish a special issue to coincide with the 2010 Integral Spiritual Experience. Please submit your materials by October 1, 2009. Authors are invited to submit their work for publication in one of three broad areas of Integral Spirituality:
- How a specific wisdom tradition expresses or integrates Integral awareness. Articles should give a first-person sense of Integral Christianity, Integral Zen, Integral Hinduism, etc. Articles might also examine a particular ritual, practice, or thought construct in any of the great spiritual systems with an Integral lens.
- The topic of the Unique Self, which is the consideration of the first year of the Integral Spiritual Experience. The Unique Self does not manifest itself merely at the personality level, but is the integration of transpersonal levels of consciousness as expressed through each individual’s lines of development. Articles should cover concepts such as one’s unique life purpose, calling, vocation, or typologies of the Unique Self as they are delineated in the great traditions, including an emphasis on the masculine and the feminine.
- The arc of the five-year Integral Spiritual Experience Journey. Authors should explore the journey itself as well as its relationship to the newly emergent trans-spirituality and the great religious traditions.
Submissions should follow JITP's submission guidelines and should be sent to the journal's managing editor, Lynwood Lord. Articles that pass an internal evaluation will be placed in peer review, which can take several months. Authors will then revise their material before having a final theoretical review with Ken Wilber and Marc Gafni, guest editor of this special issue.
