Healing the Inner Critic (Part 3/4)

February 9, 2022 at 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm PST

This event starts in:

This Integral Life Experience is only available to the supporting members

At its worst, the inner critic is that internal voice that tends to judge and demean you. But could this voice actually be beneficial? What would it look like to heal the toxic inner critic?

Join Lisa for a journey into unwinding the subtle and not-so-subtle effects of the inner critic on our lives and relationships and finding the path through.

As a starting point we use the 14 COMMON INNER CRITIC ATTACKS according to Pete Walker in “Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving: A Guide and Map for Recovering From Childhood Trauma.”
All-or-None & Black-and-White Thinking
Self-Hate, Self-Disgust & Toxic Shame
Unfair/Devaluing Comparisons to others or to your most perfect moments
Guilt complex: Obsessing about being caught/found out/in trouble/imposter syndrome
Harsh Judgments of Self & Others/ Name-Calling
Negative focus/fixed mindset
Time Urgency
Disabling Performance Anxiety
Obsessing About Being Attacked/Seeing everything through that lens

Session 1: Detoxifying the Inner Critic
Session 2: Dialoging with the Inner Critic
Session 3: Healing the Inner Critic
Session 4: Partnering with the Inner Critic

NOTE: If your friends think you are too hard on yourself, this 4-part series is for you. Don’t let the inner critic stop you from coming if you weren’t able to join us for the previous sessions!
