Roman Angerer
I am a transpersonal psychologist, researcher, and educator with a lifelong dedication to uniting mystical experience and scientific inquiry. With over twenty years of contemplative practice and a background in theological anthropology and educational ethics (M.A., University of Regensburg), I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology at Ubiquity University. My work focuses on advanced meditative states and the related developmental stages of consciousness, fusing traditional wisdom traditions, western philosophy, and modern psychology.
Over the last sixteen years I dedicated my life to building an advanced developmental model that covers and makes assessable an unprecedented number of stages and how typological aspects play into different trajectories along the spectrum of consciousness.
For five years, I worked with The New Human University, where this model – Transcendental Pluralism- was applied in both teaching and research. I am now part of Luminous Labs, a facilitator collective dedicated to resourcing the path toward a wellbeing society through delivering transformative containers, practices, and teachings.

I invite you to join me for a six-session reading group exploring my new eBook The Stages of Transcendental Pluralism. Together we will engage step by step with the core architecture of the model — beginning with an overview of the general framework in Session 1, moving through the unfolding of Firstness, and culminating in Session 6 with Fifthness, the nondual ground from which all four transcendentals emerge.
In Transcendental Pluralism I introduce an unprecedented number of evenly spaced stages and a logically complete spectrum of development, providing a scope, level of clarity, and coherence unmatched by earlier models. This group is free and open to all.

Session Overview
Session I (pp. 3–11): Transcendental Media
- Introduction to the model, the mechanisms of stage development, and the structural logic
that generates evenly spaced stages.
Session II (pp. 12–16): Firstness
- Development from proto-intelligence to real intelligence; the emergence of representational
capacity and the earliest symbolic differentiations.
Session III (pp. 17–21): Secondness
- The grounding of self in embodied interaction, resistance, and duality; how identities in
opposition unfold into formal equilibration.
Session IV (pp. 22–29): Thirdness
- The expansion into meditation, representation, and systemic intelligence; coordination of
perspectives, reciprocal systems, and narrative meaning-making.
Session V (pp. 30–36): Fourthness
- Transconceptual visionary awareness, integrative presence, and unitive patterns within
spirit — emerging from the opening to a new transpersonal dimension.
Session VI (pp. 37–41): Fifthness
- The nondual ground in which the four transcendentals are embedded; the “Self-Contained
Absolute” as the source and integrative matrix of development.
