Through the Eyes of an Evolutionary

Share

In this week's Daily Evolver, we begin our 2011 yearly review by pausing to reflect upon the eyes that will be doing the looking.

David and I first cover a basic review of the evolutionary view, that radical shift that is so foundational to our love of Integral. We further examine the evolutionary claim that human beings are showing signs of exhibiting more love and compassion as we continue to develop. We then tackle an age-old question that 21st-century religion and philosophy continues to ponder: "Does the Spirit that drives our evolution come equipped with the qualities of love and compassion, or are these qualities emerging from the unique relational evolutionary experiment that is us?" Finally, I examine the importance of Ken's work in further identifying the evolutionary pressures and patterns that are represented by the AQAL model.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Eleanor Roosevelt once said that "poor minds discuss people, average minds discuss events, and great minds discuss ideas." Integral minds, we might add, discuss all three.

In Integral Life's The Daily Evolver series, host Jeff Salzman explores some of the greatest and most pressing news stories of our time, lending some much-needed perspective to the people, events, and ideas that shape the world around us. The Daily Evolver uses the Integral lens to help make sense of the complexity, anxiety, and turbulence that surrounds our lives, offering a regular touchpoint for one of the most important practices of all: the practice of staying informed.
