Corey deVos

Corey is the editor, designer, writer, and producer of IntegralLife.com. He is also a freelance writer, integral consultant, weekend woodworker, and full time father. Corey has been working with Integral Life and Ken Wilber since 2003, and is responsible for most of the writing, image, and media production you find on IntegralLife.com.

In recent years Corey has also become a prominent host of several content series, including The Ken Show with Ken Wilber, Witt and Wisdom with Dr. Keith Witt, and Integral Justice Warrior with Mark Fischler.

Corey lives in Longmont, Colorado with his wife Angie and daughter Evelyn.

I produce our ongoing content, I find all those just-right images that capture the essence of the practices, perspectives, and presentations we publish. I also edit our audio interviews from their raw state into what you hear on the site. I then wrap some pretty-but-maybe-sometimes-too-lyrical words around the whole ordeal. Then I deliver the week's offerings to your inbox, all in hopes that all of this has somehow made your day just a little bit brighter.

I also built the new IntegralLife.com website, and manage the the site technology behind the scenes.

Now you know who to blame.

Normal Crazy vs. Extra Crazy: Disarming Your Defensive States

Normal Crazy vs. Extra Crazy: Disarming Your Defensive States

When we feel safe, we are usually comfortably social with ourselves and others. When we feel threatened, our nervous systems (our adaptive unconscious, our Shadow selves) can generate defensive states to protect us. These states amplify or numb emotions, distort perspectives, pump out destructive impulses, and diminish self-reflection and empathy. Watch as Dr. Keith Witt offers some valuable guidance to help you disarm these defensive states whenever they arise for you.

From Rationalism to Nationalism: How the Internet Ruined Everything

From Rationalism to Nationalism: How the Internet Ruined Everything

We no longer enjoy a “shared reality” in any meaningful sense. We now live in a time-shifted honeycomb of mediated views and values, a flat and fragmented reality that has completely changed the shape of our consciousness, our culture, and our conduct in the public sphere.

The Shape of Things to Come: A Singularity in All Four Quadrants

It seems clear is that we are seeing a general pattern of accelerated returns in at least four irreducible dimensions of our lives. It is a "singularity in all four quadrants" — Post-Humanism, Post-Scarcity, Post-Irony, and Post-Metaphysics. Let’s take a brief look at each of these dimensions.

Responding to the Death of Osama bin Laden

Responding to the Death of Osama bin Laden

Osama bin Laden did not just attack the American people or the American economy, he attacked the American subconscious. Even as we can breathe a sigh of relief that justice has been served and this monster has been finally eliminated from our world, the fabric of our shared American mythos remains as tattered as ever.
Synchronicity: A Post-Metaphysical Interpretation

Synchronicity: A Post-Metaphysical Interpretation

Synchronicity (or "meaningful coincidences") is a word that has become all to susceptible to new age gibberish and the pre/trans fallacy. But in this gem from the "Integral Post-Metaphysics" chapter of the Integral Spirituality: A Deeper Cut series, our own Corey deVos engages Ken Wilber in a lively and provocative discussion of synchronicity — demystifying much of the supernatural claptrap that so often surrounds this word, while reframing synchronicity as an entirely natural part of the evolutionary fabric.
Does Quantum Physics Prove God?

Does Quantum Physics Prove God?

This conversation sheds clarity on a very confused notion in the area of spirituality today—namely, the "tao of physics" and all its variations, as exemplified by the recent film What the Bleep. So what relationship, if any, does God actually have with quantum physics?
