Firefox 3 Issue:

  • Sometimes the audio player (which is supposed to be under the picture for the appropriate article) is showing-up black.  If you hit the 'refresh' button, the audio player should load correctly
  • On the "My Account" page, in the "General" section, the password field has been auto-populating making the system think you want to change your password.  If you try to make a change in this area, just go make sure you delete anything in the password fields before hitting submit.

Engagement Path

Explore
You will find explore links at the bottom of each offering. These will lead you to other relevant content on the site that you might enjoy, products described in the offering, or external websites for subject matter covered in the offering.

Contribute

Blog About This

The first link you'll see in the Contribute block under every editorial article (audio, video, eLearning, etc) is "Blog About This."  This link will open-up a new blog-post allowing you to post your reflections, post links and references to related materials, or ask a question to other members get a conversation started.  This blog post will then be listed in the Contribute box for other members to explore.

What is an Inquiry?

Function:

At the bottom of each page that contains a single media offering, you’ll see the field called Contribute.  Listed under this title you will see one or more questions to reflect on, or what we call inquiries. If you click on the inquiry, it will bring you into the community or Share channel.  You can also get directly to the inquiries by clicking on the Share tab, and scrolling down to “active inquiries”.

When you click on the inquiry, you will see a few more questions that will help guide your thinking about how to respond.  There is no need to answer all of the questions presented there, they are only meant to help you look at the inquiry from multiple angles, and to help different types of people engage similar themes.

To leave a reflection on the inquiry, simply click Respond.  You will be asked to provide a subject and to fill in the body with your response.  When you are done, simply click “submit.”

You will have one opportunity to respond to a specific inquiry.  Once a response is saved, others, including you, can comment on the response and start a conversation.  The most active inquiries will be featured on the Share page.  In addition, your responses to inquiries will show up on your member profile.

And, if you have a particular question on your mind, you can go to the list of inquiries, choose one that you’re interested in, and see which media offerings it connects back to.  These will be listed on the left hand side of the screen. This is another way to help you find just what you are looking for on the site.

Purpose:

Often, you’ll see that the inquiries are not specifically related to an offering, and you’ll notice that more than one offering may point to the same inquiry.  The inquiries are not necessarily meant as a place to comment on the specific offerings, rather, they are designed to help further your exploration and understanding of the Integral Approach by helping you reflect on your experience, or, how the components show up in your everyday life.  In encouraging people to be more self-reflective in their engagement, this will increase the learning and depth of experience for all who choose to engage with us. Self-reflection is one of our company values—for more on this, see the About section of the site.

You’ll notice that inquiries are the only engagement path listed under “contribute.”  At Integral Life, we believe that you can contribute deeply to the experience on this website, and to your life and the lives of others, by reflecting on these deeper questions, that which lies just underneath the surface, and ties together, or puts into action the concepts we employ. We’re asking that you take the time to contemplate and to offer yourself and your experience freely, starting authentic conversations that will enrich and expand our members’ lives.

Of course, inquiries are not the only place you can contribute on the site—you can share yourself through your member profile, your blog, and in many other ways that will become available to you as we grow.

Enjoy your exploration!

How to Download a Media File:

[Note: Downloading videos on IntegralLife.com is temporarily disabled. Audio downloads are still available. The Technical Team is working to return video downloading capability to the site as soon as possible.]
One of the beautiful facets of Integral Life is the ability for a member to download any audio or video file for personal use. When you access the specific page with the media that you want to download, check out the very last line of the description--there you'll see a blue highlighted link that says Download.

For PC users: Right-click on the Download link and choose the option, "Save Link As..." (for Firefox users) or "Save Target As..." (for Internet Explorer users). When the pop-up menu appears, choose the folder wherein you would like to save the file, and change the file name as you wish, BUT make sure that you leave the appropriate file extension as .mp3 (audio) or .m4v Click on the Save button and away you go!
For Mac users: Control-click on the Download link and choose the option, "Download Linked File." When the pop-up menu appears, choose the folder wherein you would like to save the file, and change the file name as you wish, BUT make sure that you leave the appropriate file extension as .mp3 (audio) or .m4v Click on the Save button and away you go!

How to Put Audio or Video on your iPod or Other Portable Device:
Download the audio or video file according to the instructions above. Then create an iTunes playlist with the file/s that you want within the playlist. Finally, just transfer to the playlist to your iPod or iPhone. Bon appetit! For any other type of mp3 player, follow the same steps above with regards to your player's corresponding software.

How to Burn Audio onto an Audio CD:
Since there are many programs with which to burn Audio onto an Audio CD, there are naturally many ways to move through this process. Here are a few How-To website links for the most popular programs:

Help with Your Blog

Copying text from Word or the Internet:  When you want to embed a copied text from Word or the internet, copy it and then move back to your blog editing screen.  Put the cursor on the portion of your blog that you want to enter your copied selection into.  On the WYSIWYG (the myriad options that you have to format the text of your blog) click on the clipboard that has a "W" on it.  When the clipboard pops up, paste the text into it and click on the "OK" button.  Your copied selection is now a part of your blog.  [IMPORTANT:  Not entering text in this way will lead to an error that shows up on your published blog screen.  To correct it if it's already done, simply erase the portion that was copied and reenter according to the above direction.]
