This event starts in:
Being and Becoming starts with a desire to understand two significant, ever-expanding possibilities: becoming present to experience and evolving experience. It will explore this territory through meditation practice and an inquiry into the nature of that practice.
Each session will include two guided meditations and time for discussion and sharing. Its primary focus is on the practitioner and curiosity about what happens when we practice.
The goal is to allow something both simple and spacious to emerge. I’ll be looking for a balance between useful structure (i.e. teaching) and creative, collective exploration. May it deepen and evolve all of our practices.
This 60 minute session is held every 2nd and 4th Saturday at 8am Pacific Time.
AARON CROWE:
My journey with meditation is rooted in Integral. I took up a daily practice after reading the hardcover edition of The Marriage of Sense and Soul in the late Spring/early Summer of 1998. How I’ve thought of my practice and the person doing it has been continually informed by my deepening interest in Integral. I was active for fifteen years in Shambhala Buddhism and for five years in the Diamond Approach. I am a certified coach/therapist in the Stages Model of ego development, trained for two years in Integral Psychotherapy with Mark Forman, and am certified in Venita Ramirez’s course on Advanced Human Development for Late-Stage Practitioners (which focused on embodiment, awareness, and subtle energy). I’m currently a therapist in private practice in Pasadena, CA. This offering is an experiment in further integration, to pass on what I have learned so far, to open up new inquiries, to take my own practice deeper, and to hopefully help whoever joins me to do the same.
