The Integral Taoist: Ancient Teachings, Integral Perspectives

May 26 at 8:00 am - 9:30 am PDT

This Integral Life Experience is only available to the supporting members

Taoist Philosophy emerged in the world around 500 BCE. Through the poetry of metaphor, the teachings of Taoism describe a way of viewing the nature of existence that is intended to bring out the very best of a person in balance with the natural world we inhabit. This 6 part series examines some of the fundamental concepts and applications of Taoist Philosophy as seen through the Integral lens, incorporating state and stage development and a 4 quadrant awareness of Taoism development through history.
Each 1 to 1.5 hour session consists of 4 parts:

  1. Opening with a Taoist meditative practice,
  2. Lecture on an aspect of Taoist philosophy looked at through the developmental lens of Ken Wilbur’s Integral Theory comparing with other philosophical traditions when appropriate,
  3. Questions and Discussion of the day’s topic,
  4. Closing with a excerpt from Taoist texts to ponder on.

MEET ERIC J. LECLERC, R.Ac.(np)
Eric first found Taoist philosophy as a teenager and fell in love with the poetry, simplicity, and deep meaning contained within the teachings. Over the years that followed he embodied many of the principals of Taoism: exploring martial arts like Tai Chi and Qi Gong, studying Nature and the natural flow of existence, and to formally study Traditional Chinese Medicine to become an Acupuncturist. With a desire to relate these ancient ideals to living well in the present, Eric went on to study modern psychology and applied mindfulness leading him explore the vastness of Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory. Eric currently lives in Canada and offers coaching on personal development towards living life excellently in harmony with Nature and One’s Self.
