The Little Book of Big Change (Book Discussion 3/4)

February 16, 2022 at 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm PST

This Integral Life Experience is only available to the supporting members

With 2021 now in the rear-view mirror, many of us look forward with hope to a fresh New Year.
However, we may still be carrying baggage in the form of habits that we struggle to break. According to Dr. Amy Brown, author of The Little Book of Big Change, that’s the case for a large majority of us:
“Whether it’s overindulging in food or alcohol, spending endless hours online, compulsively shopping, or being consumed by self-doubt, our minds can trap us into habitual thinking and behaviors that lead us away from the life we want.”
But the good news is this: we are not our habits, or even our addictions—and the power to end them permanently is already ours.

Join Paula Staffeldt, in a four-session book discussion (same day/same time) of Dr. Amy Brown’s The Little Book of Big Change. Prior to the first class, purchase the book (readily available at Amazon and at many brick and mortar booksellers) and begin reading.

It’s recommended that you commit to reading the book and attending all four sessions in order to get the most out of our time together.
Session One (Jan. 19) is about “Understanding Your Habit.”
In Session Two (Feb. 2) we’ll cover “Ending Your Habit.”
Session Three (Feb. 16) is about “Lifelong Change.”
And in Session Four (Mar. 2), we’ll cover questions and answers and talk about how you’re navigating life now as opposed to before our gatherings.

In each interactive session, we’ll discover more about what’s behind habits or addictions and understand how they can be stopped at the source. We’ll see that “thought is at the root of all habits, so understanding the way you think can help rewire your brain and put an end to unhealthy behavior patterns.”

Let 2022 be the year in which you say good-bye to the habitual baggage you’ve carried for so long and embrace real and lasting change!

Meet Your Practice Leader

Paula Staffeldt is a former mental health professional and organizational development practitioner, with over 30 years’ experience in counseling, corporate training, leadership development, and coaching. She brings expertise in Reality-Based Leadership, Crucial Conversations, and the areas of trauma, resilience, and stress-hardiness. Her graduate degree in Counseling Psychology, combined with a cognate in Theology, set the stage for becoming an ordained ministerial counselor, where she realized the connection between the spiritual and psychological nature of life and the human experience. Drawing from her background in mental health, coaching, and nondual wisdom, Paula points to an understanding that is within the consciousness of every human being. As this understanding is realized, stress resistance is increased, and innate resilience and well-being is awakened, bringing about a shift from merely “coping” to an experience of “flourishing,” despite life’s ups and downs. If “life is a contact sport,” as stated by Scottish mystic, Sydney Banks, Paula provides coaching for playing the game with wisdom and grace.
