The What NOW conference will soon be upon us so we figured it was time to check in with Jeff Salzman about what he is going bringing to the conference. Jeff, in addition to the excellent Daily Evolver offerings, has always been a major participant in our big conferences. His stellar leadership at the What Next Conference five years ago is still remembered fondly. Join Jeff and David as they discuss many of the topics we will be exploring at this year’s What NOW conference at the end of the year.

The What NOW Conference
December 29 - January 1

Welcome to the era of disruption.

It seems clear we are heading into one of the most disruptive periods of human history the world has ever known. And even now, what we currently see is just a hint of the incredibly disruptive forces that are waiting just behind the curtain — automation, genetics, artificial intelligence, etc. — ready to descend upon our civilization and force us to discover new strategies of coexistence.

But of course, in these times of rampant disruption there is also newfound opportunity for fresh ideas to emerge, to replace outmoded ideas that are generating an enormous amount of evolutionary friction, and to begin reshaping our notions of the world, our work, and our shared future.

This is why we are holding our What Now conference this New Year — to help you navigate and explore the era of massive worldwide disruption that we now find ourselves in, and to discover the inner resiliency and adaptability we need — not only to survive this breakneck era of transformation, but to thrive and actively participate in its unfolding.

  1. Yeah! We will get nowhere approaching Trump supporters with the attitude “How can we talk to you?” We must start more humbly, by listening. Really, really listening. REALLY listening. And then, if we get that far, asking, “What would help?”

  2. I think and very deeply feel that this anti-green position is the main error of the Integral movement right now.
I am not green at all. But I am a woman.
And what I see is that every yin-yang tension should be resolved at its own level.
My deeper intuition tells me Integral yang must not intervene in the search for balance the natural orange-green tension is looking for.
This is their “fight”, not yours/ours. Instead Integral yang should look for Integral yin and resolve the tension at that level.
This is more difficult and a lot more engaging at personal level but not doing this and concentrating on “easier” bits seems fundamentally wrong to me. It also appears to come out of the lack of trust, a lack of appreciation of how the fundamental equilibrium of the world works, and it is potentially a source of greater chaos (the greater source of chaos?) in the world right now…
I had to say something about this. With all the respect, love and passion I have for each of us and for our common future on this planet.
    I just hope it won’t be misunderstood…

  3. David and Jeff:
Please, when is our integral community going to acknowledge, accept, and discuss THE NINE WAVES OF CREATION, by Prof., Carl Johan Calleman? Because Prof Calleman’s discoveries and theory on the whys and wherefores of consciousness are upsetting the traditional scientific ‘sacred cows.’ For example, his discounting of the Big Bang as a big explosion. And also how the waves of energy emanating from the “Tree of Life” in the cosmos have a direct affect on the consciousness of those of us on Earth. Exciting stuff! I look forward to an integral take on this major disruption presented by Prof. Calleman. What do you say?
