Support of the movement
Support our mission of educating and spreading integral consciousness that is more critical than at any time in its history
To begin the dialogue on how to create healthy, wise human beings capable of development, we need a map of that child’s potential. The AQAL model is just such a map. It is a comprehensive index of all the things that can go well or poorly in child development. Yet many challenges lie ahead. In this video, Ken Wilber, discusses those challenges. If you work in the field of education, or are merely interested in it, Ken can help you understand what you’re up against.

About Ken Wilber
Ken Wilber is a preeminent scholar of the Integral stage of human development. He is an internationally acknowledged leader, founder of Integral Institute, and co-founder of Integral Life. Ken is the originator of arguably the first truly comprehensive or integrative world philosophy, aptly named “Integral Theory”.

We keep rejecting Bringing the public schools in to the private schools.
But have we considered taking the private school into the public school sectors ?
Cultural separation is the Damon .
Let’s privatize public schools by bringing the private schools in to the public sector .
Not by bringing the public schools in to private schools .
The voucher system is a big positive step in the right direction I believe .
But we’ve got to lose the idea that we’ve got to bring the public schools into the private school .
Let’s turn that all around and take all the benefits of the private schools and take them in to the public school sector .
At the elementary, middle and high school level there is a lot of opportunity for integral theory. Mindfulness practices are starting to appear in more and more school programs but there isn’t a lot of the toggling of absolute subjectivity with relative self structures as in integral mindfulness. As a middle school counselor I want to explore using this with students. The Big Mind exercise where you take the perspective of different selves or voices and role play with them has been met with some success. You can dial the perspectives down and say, let me hear from the stressed out student, the restless student, the super social student, etc… Students love to role play-it is a good way to show them that they actually know more about success than they realize. This role playing could be used in exploring the levels-magic, mythic, ego, ethno, etc.
On a side note, the term “guidance” counselor is largely a thing of the past. It seems the green meme really took this out because “guidance” implies a hierarchy which is a no no for green. It would be lovely to bring it back using the integral framework, because most of the unannounced visits I get to my office the students are looking for some kind of way out of the mess they are in and it is a student centered guidance that we end up offering.
I want to say a huge grateful thank you to integral life and everything that is here. All the teachings and practices are very helpful and life changing-personally and professionally.
