The ballots have been cast and tallied, and we are now beginning to get a clearer picture of how this historic election turned out. As of now, it appears that Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States.

So where does this leave us?

Trump may have lost this election — a major loss for a Presidential incumbent — but does this election represent a rebuke of Trumpism itself?

Considering that the Democrats also failed to take the Senate (pending the results of two future runoff elections in Georgia) and actually lost ground in the House, what can we say about the current state of the Left?

And since the Republicans managed to lose the Presidency without conceding very much ground in other electoral contests across the nation, what can we say about the current state of the Right?

Trump is contenting the election results, and “flooding the zone” with lawsuits in an attempt to overturn the election. Will he be successful? What are the implications for our culture and our governing institutions?

And what affect will all of this have upon our constantly-escalating culture wars?
